California Bans Certain HDTVs that Consume Power

By admin | Sep 22, 2009

In order to be a little more green California is actually banning certain models of HDTVs. With this new ban a total of one forth of existing HDTV models will be removed. Of course if you already own one of these HDTVs you should be fine. Plus, if you really wanted to, and you live in California you could always take a truck over the state border and purchase one.

The regulation to ban these HDTVs is not yet approved, but if it is, the commision thinks that this could save 8.1 billion in the period of ten years.

Just how many people use these HDTVs anyway? Should it be the choice of the consumer to decide how much power they want to consume?
