BBC is planning to released the BBC iPlayer for access in the United States. This will be a new version of the iPlayer designed mainly for the United States probably with ads targeted to United States citizens. Currently any access to the iPlayer in the UK is blocked for anyone outside the UK. (Unless of course you use a proxy.)
Want to watch BBC iPlayer for free? Well the global version most likely will not be free. It will probably cost a premium to access. Carried on this network will mostly be 1. BBC America 2. Programs like Doctor Who and Top Gear 3. Programs that have been archived.
