I haven’t heard too much about the new Zeevee Zinc Internet TV Browser, but this might just be the next best alternative to Boxee. The Internet TV Browser with Zeevee Zinc actually offers more programming, such as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and even still has access to your Netflix account.

Watch Hulu Abroad Outside the USA With GPass

There is yet another software option to watch Hulu abroad and outside the USA by using Gpass. Gpass was not designed to help let us watch Hulu outside the USA, but it does work for this purpose. Primarily the goal of Gpass was to let people in countries that block websites like in China, enable access to view websites they weren’t normally allowed to.

Two features that GPass allows
(1)It uses innovative secure Internet access mechanisms to effectively protect users privacy and online safety. (2)It supports Web2.0 websites access, multimedia players, email clients and instant messengers.

After using GPass I can confirm that it does work for Hulu. I used internet explorer and Gpass and was able to watch Windtalkers using Gpass with little buffering.

Boxee for Windows Download Delayed?

We’ve been waiting patiently for Boxee for Windows download, yet we still wait in the dark to hear anything. Though there was a beta version for Boxee released which we promptly downloaded via torrents, there has been no future words of any plans of a public release of Boxee for Windows.

Currently Boxee is available for iPhone remotely, Linux, and Mac. These users have been highly enjoying Boxee, despite in ability to secure Hulu as a permanent source of video for Boxee.

A screenshot for Hulu shows the ability to watch source like Comedy Central and Veoh in a tv like format.

Flash Player 9 Download for Internet Video

As you might have already noticed, you need to download Flash Player 9. It is also the download of Flash Player 9 which is a reason that often of not a reason why flash doesn’t work on many internet browsers, such as mobile phone browsers, or even game console browsers like the Wii.

Using Replay Media Catcher to Record Hulu, Hack

Recently I noticed a problem when trying to use Replay Media Catcher when trying to record videos from Hulu. Since Hulu switched to the new HD format, it rendered Replay Media Catcher useless when trying to record videos. However a small hack a user pointed out is that when you try to record Hulu videos from those shown on Veoh, often it works.

Try either visiting Veoh.com to record videos or just try to rip those videos on Veoh.com or YouTube.com, etc. As far as we know the only problem you’ll have with Replay Media Catcher is when trying to record those videos in the HD quality format, as far as we know this is not yet supported.

Replay Media Catcher is still claiming to record Hulu on it’s website, though they do let you know that Replay Media Catcher does not support Adobe Secure RTMP Measures.

How to Watch Hulu Episodes in Europe

When I go to Europe I always have problems trying to watch episodes on Hulu. Fortunately there is an easy method for watching Hulu episodes online. The reason why Hulu won’t work in Europe is because of geographical restrictions. US content providers don’t want to let the whole world access their content, which seems silly, because rather than having a chance to profit from it, users in Europe won’t use Hulu, rather torrents to download shows.

To get around Hulu’s geographical restrictions for Europe, we need to download a program called HotSpot Shield. Downloading this will reroute your ip address, assigned from your internet provider, and allow you to access Hulu.

To use HotSpot Shield, just 1) install the program 2) make sure it is running 3) visit Hulu.com

Netbooks can watch high definition 720p video. In fact it takes just a little help to get 720p video viewing in full on any netbook with the atom processor.

The steps required to watch 720p video on a netbook include:

Get CoreAVC
Select Default Options
Download MPC-HC This is media player classic
Run MPC-HC. Select options/external filters/add filter/ then select CoreAVC. Select Prefer.

Now you should be up and running with 720p video. Enjoy!

Replay Media Catcher Works With Hulu Not HD

After writing my recent post about Replay Media Catcher having problems with Hulu, it appears that videos are still recordable using the software, just not the HD videos. Due to a court order, Replay Media Catcher was forced to disallow any recording of HD videos from Hulu.

The verdict? Replay Media Catcher is still valuable software.

As Andy Heinlein, a software engineer for Replay Media Catcher wrote: “The reason why this has happened is because Hulu streams the Hi-Def
videos using Adobe’s RTMPE (RTMP Encrypted) protocol. Media Catcher used to download these encrypted streams, but Adobe didn’t like that fact and ordered us via court order to stop using their proprietary encrypted protocol.”

Just make sure if you use Replay Media Catcher to select the non HD formats before ripping.
