So as you guessed the show does take place in Queens. Everything was going great for Doug until his step father moved in and his tv room had become taken over by his father in law. Not only that, but big tv sports game had to be relocated to the garage. King of Queens did last a whole 9 seasons, proving what a success this show really was.
